  This is probably not a great way to start this blog post, but I'm not an airplane person.  My family loves planes, though!  I married a Moody Aviation "flyboy" almost fifteen years ago, which started my journey into all things that fly.  He even owned a hang glider!  Now that we have kids, they also love to see airplanes, play with airplanes, and play on the flight simulator.  This past year, Microsoft updated their Flight Simulator for a new generation.  Since my 9, 8, and 7 year old homeschoolers spend a bit of time learning on it, I thought it would make a great blog post for this homeschool blog. My 7 year old son has recently stated that he wants to be a WW2 pilot when he grows up.  He loves studying the differences between all the planes and flying them with his Dad on the flight simulator.   He's constantly talking about them, asking me questions, and correcting my answers (haha).  We recently took the family to the Seattle area (read all about it on my travel blog- Party Through the USA ) and spent the weekend at two airplane museums.  One of them was exclusively about WW2 airplanes and tanks! Our Tinkerbell fairy slime recipe was a bit feminine, so I wanted to make one that was geared more toward the boys.  Skimmer and Tadpole pretend they are airplanes all the time, running around and sweeping their arms like propellers.  They love the Planes movies, so I knew they would enjoy a planes-themed slime.  When I found the orange glitter glue and confetti pack, the slime was inevitable. The awesome thing about slime is that you don't need a recipe to make it. You can just start adding ingredients and see what happens.  It's science!  Dusty slime has liquid glue, contact eye solution, baking soda, and glitter.  But, if you want an official recipe, slime books can be found on Amazon. I have each of the kids a 2oz plastic container and a craft stick.  Then, I added about 1oz of glitter glue.  We added the baking soda and contact solution and mixed like normal.  Everyone was very excited to add the Planes confett...

My husband has loved WWII airplanes for as long as I've known him.  He paints them on canvas, models them with plastic, flies them in simulators, and visits them at airshows.  My boys (5 and 4) have caught his enthusiasm and have learned many of the planes names.  Today's "All Wrapped Up" post is dedicated to all the Flyboys, from six months to 106 years. Decisive Campaigns , Warbirds , and Flyboys We have quite a collection of WW2 airplane books, but my husband is always adding more to his list.  Any one of these books (or others) would be great presents for adult historians.  Sadly, I didn't find a child-friendly one for my boys.  I think I'll have to make something for them someday- maybe a picture book called "B is for Blenheim."  Click on the links or the pictures to buy the books.
